About

Milford School of Music

Milford School of Music provides a fun and friendly environment where private music lessons help to develop a spirit of cooperation, and a feeling of accomplishment. Lessons and learning are structured for maximum benefit. Students are encouraged to take an active role in their learning by coming prepared, practicing, asking questions, and setting goals.

Milford School of Music teaches approximately 4,500 private music lessons annually. Our students have ranged in age from 4 to 88 years. In addition to private instrument lessons we offer audition preparation. A number of Milford School of Music students have won scholarships and continued their studies attending such schools as Berklee College of Music, Marywood University, SUNY New Paltz and Bard College, to name a few. Others have pursued careers that include music.

The staff at Milford School of Music understands the importance of developing musical skills and how music adds to the learning capabilities of young children, and the impact it can have on one’s life through enrichment and enjoyment. The benefits of music are not just for children but are for everyone. Continued learning, whether one wants to learn to play an instrument for the first time, or brush up on their skills, helps to keep one’s mind and motor skills sharp.
